Everyone is tired of updates and blogs on COVID-19. We get it. It’s especially hard when you feel like there isn’t anything you can do to change the current situation or save lives affected by the coronavirus.
The good news is there is something tangible you can do right now! (And you can do it without leaving the house.) 😉
We understand that it’s a difficult time for businesses, families, and non-profits everywhere, but we want to take a minute to highlight the life-saving work of pregnancy centers in the midst of COVID-19.
It’s not hard to believe that abortion rates tend to rise when women and families feel desperate and uncertain about the future. It’s critical that centers are able to stay open (or at the very least available) to women facing pregnancy decisions and considering abortion.
3 Great Ways to Support Your Local Center (During a Crisis)
PRAY
Pray for women facing unplanned pregnancies during this time, for anxious pregnant moms and moms with new babies, for volunteers and staff still working, and for much-needed funding. Many centers have already been faced with many changes, with loss of financial support, and a lack of resources.
Pregnancy centers are on the frontlines of a spiritual battle between life and death; your prayers are always coveted.
(Note: If you commit to praying for a local center, let them know! Many centers have a prayer chain, private Facebook group, or e-newsletter dedicated to sending our urgent prayer requests.)
SHARE
Follow your local center on social media. By sharing posts, news and ongoing client needs, you can extend their reach and bring awareness to others in your network.
Be a voice for the voiceless and advocate for the life-saving work they do. You never know who needs to hear the message of hope and life.
(P.S. You can share this too and help bring awareness to others.)
GIVE
Yes. Give. Because right now through all the uncertainty and difficulty we are facing, non-profits are hurting too. If you are currently giving, please do not stop. Pregnancy centers often operate on a small margin and your gift, whatever the size, makes a huge difference in the lives of the people they serve.
If giving financially isn’t an option, ask your pregnancy center about other tangible or material needs they have for their clients.
Giving through a crisis can mean the difference in a center staying open, reaching the most vulnerable, and saving precious lives.
